Enough already! Let's work together!

I have a tendency to look back at most of my perso I have a tendency to look back at most of my personal work and despise it (in a healthy way? Maybe?) but something about this shot was just everything that I wanted it to be. I’ve just kind of kept it to myself for a few months, but it reminds me of summer patio evenings, days where the sun lingers a bit longer, and fresh berry desserts, so I figured I’d share a bit of those sunny, happy vibes with you, too.

Oh! And this recipe is actually one from my site: grain-free Tahini Blueberry Cobbler. It’s filthy delicious. Except not actually filthy.

Many of my ideas have been coming from walks aroun Many of my ideas have been coming from walks around the city and brainstorming in a notebook afterwards. I’ve had this image in my mind of stacked plates after watching a server carry in an unstable-looking pile of dishes from outdoor dining, but I wasn’t quite sure how to fit it in to my technique studies until now.

It’s been tough to find time for these personal shoots in the midst of client work and internal business projects, but I get so much creative fulfillment from working on them that it’s entirely worth giving up a weekend morning to work on these studies.

Oh, and swipe for the evil twin... 😎
I just love the color change you get when you put I just love the color change you get when you put blueberries in a little heat 🫐

Towards the end of last year I looked at my work and I realized that while I saw so much growth, I didn’t see myself in it. I saw me trying my best to make something beautiful, but I didn’t see a reflection of what I actually enjoy looking at most. I knew I couldn’t continue creatively like that.

So what do you do when you find yourself in need of a creative 180? Surround yourself with systems to keep yourself accountable, and seek inspiration in new ways to bring about new results.

Just a heads up: It’s uncomfortable. Some days I go to cull and feel like I missed the mark on everything because it’s just so new to me.

I’m trying earnestly to be an example of what it is to try new things without the expectation of immediate success. I’m trying to show that any moment you are allowed to experience the kind of growth that requires a domino effect of other changes in your life and work. And in that change you are allowed to set goals so big that you don’t have anything to show for a little while.

And (here’s the cheesiest metaphor I will ever bring to you) you might be surprised, much like these berries, at all of the unexpected, beautiful change you are capable of when you put yourself in a new environment and sit in discomfort for a little while.
So I realize that blueberries are not totally in s So I realize that blueberries are not totally in season, but I just had to have them as my next series so here we are. I’m already about 8 images deep in this one and it has brought some much needed summer vibes my way. 🌞
I talk a lot here and there about how important I I talk a lot here and there about how important I believe it is to invest in your career early on through mentorship and education. It gets your head in the game and helps you to bypass so many pitfalls along the way; because there is so much to learn and do when you’re starting out, that even just cutting that list in half can be a real game changer.

But maybe that all sounds like overused business jargon; I get it, because I used to think that, too.

So I wrote a post on my own experiences with investing in my business, and what I learned along the way. Hopefully it’ll give you some clarity on this topic that can be so difficult to make sense of!

It’s finally time for me to stop shooting citrus It’s finally time for me to stop shooting citrus after two months 😅 (although maybe I should tell that to the massive bag of Meyer lemons I grabbed yesterday...)

Swipe to see a few of the series that I did! We had several, but the blood orange, lemon, and grapefruit all stood out as favorites.

I’m still going to be working on minimalism for a few more weeks, but I have a new series in mind that I’ll share soon!
